Our Story
Christa and John have always been involved ministering to the people in the gap, and people of the next generation. They did kids ministry before kids ministry was cool, they filled in the gap. Before middle school ministry was even a thing; they were filling in the gap. In middle school ministry, they loved helping students manage the transitions in their life during those tough years. They see Chi Alpha ministry as their next gap to fill with the students. College years are one of the most significant transitional periods in life. The paradigms that are formed in this time will set the stage for how the rest of their life will be lived.
John's dad found the Lord in college and his mother developed a genuine relationship with the Lord in college, as a result they were raised in a Christian home. The Thwings (John's spiritual grandparents) were the vessel God used in his parents’ life, and Christa and John would love to be able to be the vessel for this generation of students.
97% of people who ever receive Christ do so before the age of 21. Conservative numbers are 50% of students who grow up in church leave the church during college, and they don’t know if they ever return. College ministry has become a huge gap to fill in Church's all over.
